Jurisdiction: these sites are licensed in Malta or Curaçao, not by a Canadian province. Rules differ by province, so check that a site accepts players where you live.
We earn commission when you sign up through our links. It never changes a score, and paid placements are labelled. How we make money
Order blends our editorial score with how readers respond to each site, including clicks, sign-ups and the commission we earn. Scores are never changed, and a site under 7.5 can never take a top-three spot. How the ranking works

Questions people ask
Are offshore casinos legal outside Ontario and Alberta?
No province outside Ontario and Alberta licenses private online casinos. The only provincially authorised option is your lottery corporation's own site, such as PlayNow in British Columbia or Espacejeux in Quebec. Offshore sites operate without provincial authorisation, and the legal position for players is not settled. We are not lawyers: if it matters to you, check your province's rules. Always check the operator's licence on its regulator's public register.
Why do some sites show no bonus?
We only show an offer when its key terms are complete, checked in the last 30 days and within local rules. If any of that fails, we link to the site without offer wording.
Do operators pay to be ranked higher?
Commission and reader response can move the order, which we disclose above the list. Scores never change for money, sites under 7.5 cannot reach the top three, and paid placements are labelled Featured.
What is PlayNow?
PlayNow.com is the BC Lottery Corporation's online gambling site and, according to the B.C. government, the only legal online gambling site in British Columbia. BCLC manages all commercial gambling in the province, including casinos and online play, and you must be 19 or older. Other provinces have their own lottery corporation sites.
Why are Ontario and Alberta treated differently?
They are the two provinces that license private online operators. Ontario opened its regulated market on 4 April 2022, and Alberta's regulated market launched on 13 July 2026 under the AGLC, with the Alberta iGaming Corporation onboarding operators. In other provinces the provincial lottery corporation remains the only authorised online option.

Can a Canadian regulator help me with an offshore casino?
Generally no. Ontario's AGCO says it has no legal relationship with unregulated operators and cannot help with disputes involving them, and unregulated sites offer no assurance of player protections or data security. With an offshore site, your options are its own complaints process and whatever route its licensing body offers, so check that before depositing.
