Oklahoma's ban on online sweepstakes casinos comes into force on 1 November 2026. The law, SB 1589, was vetoed by Governor Kevin Stitt, and lawmakers overrode that veto with a final vote on 14 May 2026.
What changes
From 1 November, offering an online sweepstakes casino in Oklahoma is a Class C2 felony, with fines of $500 to $2,000. The law does not stop at the site itself. It also reaches the owners of geolocation providers, gaming suppliers, platform providers, promoters and affiliates.
That last group matters for publishers. Sites that promote sweepstakes casinos to readers in Oklahoma are inside the law's reach, so from 1 November Hub of Luck will not list or link to any sweepstakes casino for readers in the state.
A growing list of states
Oklahoma joins a run of states that have banned the model by law in the past year and a half, including New Jersey, Connecticut, Montana, New York, California, Tennessee, Indiana, Maine and Louisiana.
What it means for players
If you live in Oklahoma and hold a balance at a sweepstakes casino, check that site's terms on redeeming prizes before the ban begins. Contact the site directly, and keep records of your balance and any redemption requests.
Oklahoma does not license real-money online casinos either (as of October 2026), so there is no licensed online alternative to switch to. If you want to cut down instead, free blocking tools and helplines can help.
