L&W

Light & Wonder is a large US-based games company. Until 2022 it was called Scientific Games. It makes slot machines for casino floors, runs a social casino business, and supplies online casinos with its own games and those of partner studios. If you have played a land-based slot and then found the same title online, there is a fair chance it came through Light & Wonder.

From Scientific Games to Light & Wonder

The company announced in April 2022 that it had finished changing its legal name from Scientific Games Corporation to Light & Wonder, Inc. Its shares moved from the ticker SGMS to LNW on 29 April 2022.

The bigger change for shareholders came in 2025. Light & Wonder voluntarily delisted from Nasdaq and moved to a sole primary listing on the ASX, where trading started on 14 November 2025. In its words, the aim was to consolidate trading liquidity on one exchange. In its 2025 results it reported 2025 iGaming revenue of US$337 million, up 13% on the year.

What Light & Wonder makes

The business splits into three parts:

  • Gaming. Slot cabinets and game content for land-based casinos. Recent cabinets named in its 2025 results include COSMIC, LIGHTWAVE and HORIZON.
  • SciPlay. Social casino apps such as JACKPOT PARTY Casino, played with virtual currency.
  • iGaming. Online casino content and technology. The 10-K describes a suite of digital games, distribution platforms and player account management systems.

The centre of the online business is OpenGaming, which Light & Wonder describes as a network that "connects players, studios and operators globally", offered to casinos through one integration. The 10-K says most iGaming revenue comes from casino-style content: internally developed games, branded games and third-party games. The 10-K says its iGaming business has launched in seven US states. That makes Light & Wonder both a game maker and a distributor, a little like Games Global or Playtech.

Notable games

These are titles Light & Wonder shows on its own iGaming page or that trade press ties to it. We do not quote RTPs here: Light & Wonder does not publish them on the pages we checked, and the version you see depends on the casino.

  • Huff N' Puff series. Trade press dates the original to 2019, as a spin-off of Light & Wonder's Lock It Link series. In its hold-and-spin feature, hard hats landing on the same spot upgrade a house from straw to sticks to a mansion. Later versions include Huff N' Even More Puff and Huff N' Puff Money Mansions. For the general format, see our hold and win slots guide.
  • Huff N' More Puff. The online version launched on 4 February 2025 in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, West Virginia, Connecticut and Ontario. It launched as an exclusive with one operator, and the launch release says the online game adds a bonus buy that the casino-floor version does not have. More on that in our bonus buy slots guide.
  • Rainbow Riches. A long-running Light & Wonder slot brand. Rainbow Riches Rainbow Frenzy appears on Light & Wonder's iGaming page, and Gaming Realms licenses the brand from Light & Wonder for Slingo Rainbow Riches.
  • Invaders Megaways, Kraken Unleashed and Terrific Tiger Coin Combo. All three appear among the game images on the company's iGaming page. Megaways is a reel system covered in our Megaways slots guide.

RTP versions

We could not find a Light & Wonder statement on how many RTP settings it offers for each online game. Many large suppliers let operators choose between several versions of the same slot. Before you play, open the game's help or paytable screen, which shows the RTP that particular casino runs. Our RTP and volatility guide explains why a few percentage points matter over thousands of spins.

Where Light & Wonder games appear

Its subsidiary LNW Gaming Gibraltar Limited is licensed by the UK Gambling Commission, so Light & Wonder games can appear at UK-licensed sites: see our UK casino listings. In North America, the online launch of Huff N' More Puff covered New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Ontario. Availability changes by operator, so check the game lobby. For other markets, start at the casino markets hub, and for other studios, see the providers hub.
