Online gambling in West Virginia: what is legal
West Virginia regulates online sports betting, live since December 2018, and online casino games, live since July 2020, through the Lottery Commission for players aged 21 and over. Online poker was legalised in 2019 and the first room went live in June 2025 in a shared multi-state pool. Since 31 October 2024 the Lottery has sold draw games and eInstants online through its iPlay programme. There is no sweepstakes statute; the Attorney General raised concerns in 2025 and several operators have left the state.
