Online gambling in Iowa: what is legal
Iowa has licensed online sports betting since August 2019 for players aged 21 and over, regulated by the Racing and Gaming Commission. The regulator says online casino games and online poker are not allowed; they are permitted only in person. The Iowa Lottery does not sell online and players must be 21. In May 2026 SF 2289 gave the commission cease-and-desist and injunction powers over illegal sweepstakes, though it does not expressly ban dual-currency sites.
