Online gambling in Texas: what is legal

Texas has no regulated online gambling. Online casinos, online poker and sports betting are illegal, and the legislature, which next meets in 2027, has not advanced expansion bills. The Texas Lottery moved to the Department of Licensing and Regulation on 1 September 2025 under SB 3070; it sells tickets in shops only and has barred courier services since February 2025. Sweepstakes casinos are neither banned nor licensed.
